| The second National meeting that was dedicated to the planning on local level and development and implementation of LEAP documents in 5 municipalities (Jajce, Novi Travnik, Kotor Varoš, Prnjavor and Vareš) was held in Sarajevo on 30th March, 2010.
The meeting was organized within the project "Local Environmental Action Planning for Sustainability in South East Europe", implemented by Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) in 20 municipalities in South eastern Europe, financially supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The meeting was attended by the representatives of municipalities Jajce, Novi Travnik, Vareš, Prnjavor and Kotor Varoš, Federal Ministry of the Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Spatial Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology of Republic of Srpska, City Administration of Banja Luka, Associations of municipalities and towns of BiH Federation and Republic of Srpska, Environmental Fund of Republic of Srpska, municipality Novi Grad Sarajevo and representatives of REC BiH.
The purpose of the meeting was the presentation of thematic areas and priorities defined in LEAP documents in five municipalities included in the project and presentation of selected priority projects from LEAP documents, implementation of which commenced in February 2010, as well as exchange of information, ideas and cooperation opportunities in the area of environment.
The role of LEAPs in a broader context of sustainable development was also the topic of the meeting, as well as the position and the role of relevant ministries towards LEAP as a strategic document on the local level and the possibilities of financing the priorities defined in LEAP.
Participants of the meeting have also visited the forest park Mojmilo - the first priority project implemented from the LEAP of Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality.
